In a stressed-out society where we think we should be constantly on the go, this excellent book is precisely what we need to stop, reset, and rest.
Over the bank holiday weekend I was finishing up a lot of my fiction reading but also picked up The Brain at Rest by Dr Joseph Jebelli, because I find it very hard to rest my brain which in turn impacts my ability to sit and read and do nothing else. Enter, this book, which is quite honestly a bit life-changing.
If you are also driven by a constant need to make the most of every second, to be efficient with every hour, and are frankly exhausted by it – you’ll probably find this book as invaluable as I did.
It’s not a big book, I finished it really looking for more, but there’s a lot to unpick when you have a brain that won’t let you rest and that’s probably another six or seven books away…
