the wives

After reading a handful of psychological thrillers and getting hooked on murders and ‘who did it…’ this was a lovely break from all of that! This book was published last Summer but has been in the depths of my NetGalley ‘to be read’ pile for sometime. I picked it up at just the right moment because I sped through this in just a few days… it was utterly entertaining, heart-breaking and hilarious at all the right times.

Oh AND it’s the third book in the Devil Wears Prada series.. I really and honestly only just found that out when I went to grab a photo of the cover to put into this review… So I had to do a little bit of research (I mean we’ve all SEEN the Devil Wears Prada but how many of us have actually read it?!) just to check BUT… This book definitely stands on its own two feet just as much as I imagine it fits nicely into the series.

Emily Charlton is back! One of my favorite characters from the Devil Wears Prada has returned with all of her wit, sass, sarcasm and quick thinking. Emily is not the only focus of this book though and to join her with equal sass, style and Lululemons is Miriam (once successful but overworked attorney) and Karolina (former super model and now wife of a senator).

Full of scandal, drama and suburbanites, this book will have you hooked from start to finish. Lots of glamour but also plenty of ‘normal’ moments to bring you crashing back down to earth. The book is told from the perspective of the three main characters and Weisberger handles it with ease and finesse.
