The Stepford Wives meets The Handmaid’s Tale…With thanks to Sophie for her review!
Natalie Heller Mills is a ‘trad wife’ in the modern day – living on the ranch with the perfect family, projecting the perfect Christian life and preaching how the traditional role of the home maker needs to return to modern society. Only thing is, it’s all fake.
This was my first read in the Dystopian genre and it had me gripped and kept me hooked from the start. What I liked the most was the twist I didn’t even know I was looking for. It had an interesting take on how social media can be fake and people can portray a completely false life without anyone truly realising it…
I’m not surprised that the film rights have been picked up and this is already a best seller – because it was a fantastic read. If you fancy something different this is definitely for you.

About the Book
‘My name was Natalie Heller Mills, and I was perfect at being alive.’
Natalie lives a traditional lifestyle – and has the social media accounts to prove it. Her charming farmhouse on her working ranch is artfully cluttered, her husband is a handsome cowboy, her homemade sourdough boules are each more beautiful than the last. So what if there are nannies and producers and industrial-grade ovens behind the scenes? What Natalie’s followers don’t know won’t hurt them.
Then, one morning, Natalie wakes up in a strange, horrible version of reality. Her home, her husband, her children―they’re all familiar, but something’s off. Is this a hoax? A reality show? A test from God? One thing Natalie does know is that it’ll make one hell of an Instagram post…
