One mermaid + one human = one very interesting arranged marriage.

I think it’s safe to say this is the first Urban Fantasy Mermaid Novel featuring a talking Pelican that I’ve ever read. And I think I quite liked it!

“Is there some sort of clause in this marriage contract for your emotional support pelican? Because there should be.”

Everybody should have an emotional support Pelican, if they want one that is, and as a side character this one was brilliant. There was some excellent world building from the Author throughout this book to make a very unique backdrop to a traditional love story theme – with a twist or two. Initially I found the writing possibly leaning towards a younger audience but of course, throw in the spice and everything changed very quickly! It’s quite possible that the only downside was I was more invested in the side character Pelican than the actual main characters!

Tension, spice, a romance you’ll root for, this book has everything you’d want in a romance novel, and it was just the right amount of fun to be an escapist read.
