All was quiet in the deep dark wood…

If you love the magical world of the Gruffalo, then The Gruffalo Granny sounds like a delightful excuse to return to the woods and enjoy another adventure with a much-loved character – my only criticism is she didn’t make an appearance until towards the end… but perhaps that’s because she is retired.

The Gruffalo has become such a familiar favourite in children’s literature, capturing imaginations with its wonderfully memorable characters, playful language and just the right amount of mischief. The idea of bringing a granny into this world promises plenty of opportunities for humour, surprises and family fun plus a wider exploration of family dynamics.

These books are great for all ages. The imaginative woodland setting, larger-than-life characters and sense of adventure make them perfect for sharing at bedtime or enjoying together during story time. There is something special about a story that encourages little readers to use their imaginations, join in with the storytelling and delight in the unexpected PLUS older readers get the opportunity to have a bit of nostalgia. Seeing the age ranges purchasing and enjoying this book gives a lovely reminder of why these woodland characters have become such firm favourites with families.

Perfect for: young readers, bedtime story sessions, family reading time and anyone who can’t resist a return to the Gruffalo’s world. A charming choice for little book lovers who enjoy imagination, adventure and a sprinkle of woodland magic!
