As soon as I saw The Ordeals on the review pile at Tea Leaves & Reads I knew it was for me. Huge thanks to Katy for letting me have first dibs, even before she got to read it herself!

If you’re a fan of The Hunger Games, Fourth Wing (minus the dragons), The Maze Runner and dare I say it, Harry Potter, you’re going to love this one. It has similar intense, high stakes vibes with a gripping, dystopian edge.

I was totally drawn in by Sophia’s dark and layered backstory and enjoyed how it slowly unravels as the plot unfolds. It kept me hooked the whole way through. The friendships in the story were also a highlight. They were genuine, heartwarming, and so well written.

I was convinced I had guessed one of the twists, I had it all figured out halfway through. The author had me doubting myself right up until the end, and yup, I was wrong!

An incredible start to a new fantasy series. This is a must read!

Another fabulous guest review from Keighley_Reads!
