How to be Happy – Josh Hartley interviewed by Amanda Prowse.

Books have the power to begin conversations that matter. We’re proud to be hosting, in partnership with, The Waitrose & Partners Farm, an honest, compassionate and ultimately hopeful evening with author Josh Hartley, in conversation with bestselling novelist Amanda Prowse.

Together, they will share the deeply personal story behind The Boy Between – the critically acclaimed memoir that explores Josh’s experience of leaving home for university, living with depression, surviving a suicide attempt, and finding a way to build a life of hope and purpose.

Through readings from the book and an open conversation, Josh & Amanda will explore the realities of men’s mental health, the challenges of asking for help, and what families, friends, teachers and carers can do to better support the people they love.

Suicide remains the leading cause of death for young men in the UK. Changing that begins with conversation. This evening offers a safe, welcoming space to listen, ask difficult questions, and leave with greater understanding, practical insight and hope.

While the themes being discussed are challenging, this is not an evening without light. Josh’s story is one of resilience, recovery and the small, everyday ways we can find peace, even in our darkest moments.

The Boy Between was selected as a World Book Night title, named an Amazon Best Book of the Year, and has touched readers around the world. Josh has spoken widely about his experiences on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour, BBC Breakfast, Lorraine, This Morning, and across numerous podcasts and national publications.

Presented by Leckford Estate in Partnership with Tea Leaves & Reads, the evening begins when doors open at 6:30pm, giving you time to settle in, browse, and enjoy something delicious. Sweet treats, hot drinks, and a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be available to purchase before the event begins.

The Authors will talk for approximately one hour including a Q and A session at the end, followed by a book signing & dedicating session featuring The Boy Between.
