Assam is seasonal, with teas produced from March through to November. But Assam’s best second flush teas are harvested for just a few weeks, between May and June, when the character is at its best and the leaf is prized for its golden tips. The tips are the youngest buds, covered with downy hair, and are evidence of careful plucking and manufacture.

The world’s largest black tea producing region, Assam is renowned for producing full-bodied, strong black teas making them a perfect component for a Breakfast blend or the base for a spiced Chai. Assam teas are well suited to being served with a splash of milk.
